Workshop participants will take a 15 minute hayride to a lone cabin where they will find Robert Alvin Crum portraying Daniel Boone in the first person. Boone will explain why he and his extended family (including brothers and sisters) left the Forks of the Yadkin in 1767 to move west into the Brushy Mountains and the Upper Yadkin River near the location of this workshop. Here the Boones began their longhunts and exploration of Kentucky after meeting with John Finley who piloted them through the Cumberland Gap. Daniel led America’s Trans-Allegheny Migration from this place. Participants will have time to ask Daniel questions, and when finished will take their memories of Boone with them and as they leave him at the cabin and depart by wagon.
